Linz is currently releasing new aerial photography covering disaster hit areas of the North Island. So far there are two layers available:

• Hawkes Bay at 0.1m resolution. This layer covers just the major population areas such as Waipukurau, Napier, Hastings and Wairoa, plus the Esk Valley up to Waipunga. About 100 km of the PNGL is covered in the section.
• East Coast of the North Island at 0.5m resolution. This covers most of the route of the PNGL but there is cloud cover over parts of it. This is actually satellite photography from a Chinese company.

NZRM would hope to see more at a better resolution, however all of the above will be made use of to the greatest extent possible especially the higher resolution content around Napier. This has already been utilised in new maps produced for Clive to Waipunga.
